We know that as a teen or young parent, navigating school and life can feel overwhelming. Houston Birthing Connection (HBC) provides free, nonprofit-based academic support and graduation pathways to help you stay in school, achieve your goals, and build a stable future for you and your child.


All programs are provided at no cost through HBC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we never charge for services or share personal information.

Who Academic Support Is For

HBC Academic Support & Graduation Pathways is free, nonprofit-based, and designed for teen and young parents in the Greater Houston Area.

  • Teen parents balancing school, work, and parenthood

  • Young parents at risk of dropping out due to pregnancy or parenting challenges

  • Parents needing tutoring, mentorship, or guidance on life skills

  • Families referred by counselors, teachers, or mentors
    Parenting support works best when accessed consistently, and all our academic programs are provided at no cost.

Our Programs

We offer Houston programs for young mothers and fathers (ages 14–26) to complete their high school diploma or GED, gain job skills, explore careers like Home Health Aide, or start their own business. Our supportive programs combine education, workforce training, and wraparound services to help young parents and their families thrive.

The Oak Forest Neighborhood Library (1349 West 43rd St, Houston, TX 77018) is more than books—it’s a hub for free tutoring, homework help, and educational events to support learning and personal growth.

Step Into a Career While You Build Your Family’s Future

​Houston Birthing Connection provides free training and mentorship programs for teen and young parents to build career skills in healthcare and homecare. Participants receive guidance, skill-building opportunities, and connections to local employers through nonprofit programs
