Houston Birthing Connection (HBC) is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting pregnant and parenting teens and young parents as they work toward education completion, workforce readiness, housing stability, and long-term family well-being.

Our impact is rooted in removing barriers, strengthening skills, and providing wraparound support that helps young families move from crisis to stability.

The Challenge Facing Young Parents in Houston

Serving Ages 14–26

Across Houston, thousands of young parents are navigating:

  • School and early parenthood at the same time

  • Limited access to affordable childcare

  • Entry-level jobs with little opportunity for advancement

  • Housing and transportation instability

  • Gaps in mentorship, professional skills, and emotional support

Without comprehensive support, these barriers often limit educational and career outcomes — not because of lack of potential, but lack of access.

The HBC Academy is a developing initiative designed specifically for pregnant and parenting teens and young adults in Houston.

Funded through grants and community support, the Academy ensures:
